Fee Forgiveness

Give back, give thanks, and give yourself a fresh start. This holiday season, we invite you to take part in our Fee Forgiveness programs and clear overdue fees while supporting your community. Together, we can turn overdue fees into opportunities for kindness and help everyone in our community enjoy all the library has to offer.

Food for Fees

Sunday, November 9 – Saturday, November 15

Have overdue fees? From Sunday, November 9 through Saturday, November 15, you can reduce or pay off your library account balance by donating nonperishable food items. For every non-perishable food item donated, we will remove $2 worth of overdue fees from your account. Credit cannot be applied to billed, damaged, or other item charges.

High-need items include
+ Peanut butter + Canned pasta (like SpaghettiOs with meatballs)
+ Grape jelly + Canned beans (like pinto or pork & beans)
+ Canned fruit + Canned pasta sauce
+ Canned soup + Canned chicken
+ Canned vegetables + Canned tuna

Items must be unopened, dent-free and include their original label. Drop donations at the Welcome Desk, Lucky Day Desk, or Preschool Desk.

Fee Forgiveness Tree

Friday, November 14 – Tuesday, December 30

Celebrate the season by helping FPL’s youth patrons start the new year strong! From November 14 through December 31, make a donation at our Fee Forgiveness Tree and take home a holiday ornament as a thank-you. Your gift will help pay down overdue fees on youth accounts and keep kids reading all year long.

1. Choose an ornament

Select an ornament from the Fee Forgiveness Tree in the Mountain Street Lobby.

2. Make an impact

Bring your ornament to the Welcome Desk and make a donation of $5 or more.

3. Take home a keepsake

Keep your FPL holiday ornament as a reminder of your generosity this season.
