Ringo Jones is a multimodal non-fiction storyteller producing stories about local/regional people, places, and events through documentary films and augmented reality exhibitions. Jones captures the humanity, history, beauty, and culture of Arkansas through stories of social justice. The themes of his projects include sustainable farming, voting rights, neurodiversity in the workforce, accent & dialect, maternal health, LGBTQ+ issues, food insecurity, and art. Ringo's stories represent real life for everyday Arkansans. Whether it’s traditional documentary modes or more interactive media such as augmented reality and immersive 360 tours, Ringo Jones documents the human experience in Arkansas.
During Ringo’s residency, he will bring spaces around Fayetteville Public Library to life with augmented reality. He will identify up to ten spaces/artworks in the library and create a moving image experience that users can activate through their mobile devices. This will include fully immersive animations, graphic design, spatial sound, video, and storytelling. Classes Ringo will teach include “What is Interactive Media?,” “An intro to no-code Augmented Reality,” “360 Video and You,” and “3D Photos in Your Social Media Feed Workshop.”
