Volunteer at FPL

Our volunteers donate their time and talents to help the library provide quality programs and services to our community. Volunteer opportunities incluse assisting with outreach activities, special events, the Friends Bookstore, shelving, library tours and much more!

Volunteer placements are based on the needs of the library and specific departments. With a variety of tasks, volunteers can set their own hours and select which library functions to support.

FAQ

What can volunteers help with at the library? Do you like the flexibility of helping with special events? Are you looking for the stability of a weekly assignment? Do you prefer working behind the scenes or front and center? We have options to fit your needs.

Is there a time commitment? Most weekly volunteer opportunities consist of one-hour shifts. Some outreach opportunities and positions involving technical services require a two-hour shift.

Can I work different days and times each week? For most weekly assignments, library operations require a set schedule each week. Special projects and events are more flexible.

How old do I have to be before I can volunteer? You must be 13 years of age or older for most volunteer opportunities.

Can I complete service hours that are court-ordered? The Fayetteville Public Library does not accept court-ordered community service hours.

Can groups volunteer at the library? Yes! Please contact the Community Engagement office at 479.856.7104 or email cdennis@faylib.org.
